Gala Tent is a manufacturer of marquees and gazebos, based in Rotherham, England.

The company is a family-run business which has several trademarks and patents on products, which they ship to multiple countries. The business was created in 1999 when founder Jason Mace tried to hire or buy a marquee that was affordable for a Millennium celebrations party. When nothing was available he designed and built his own realising there was a niche in the market. The first production model was called the Millennium Marquee, targeted at party organisers for the New Year’s celebrations. A full range of makes and models was subsequently branded as the Gala Tent.[1][2]

Gazebo innovation[edit]

Also recognised for the innovative Gala Shade Pro [3][4][5][6]range of commercial gazebos that transformed the way market traders, promotional events and towns operate[7][8]replacing the old fashioned traditional stalls. The new design offered vibrant colour options and corporate branding, changing the dated appearance.

Technology innovation[edit]

Gala Tent have also developed a secure payment system for telephone transactions which won the UK IT Security Innovation Award 2014, the awards dinner took place 12 November at the Battersea Park Events Arena in London.[9][10]

Charity and community projects[edit]

Gala Tent’s philanthropy activities include donating marquees to provide cover for some of the world’s worst tragedies, such as providing protective shelter and cover for children’s schooling in the 2005 Kashmir earthquake[11] Delivering to Birmingham’s Islamic relief centre where another companies had donated a flights which then flew the marquees to the affected area. And also for the 2010 Haiti earthquake.[12] Also providing shelter for schooling. In 2013 donated marquees to ABC Children’s Aid so hundreds of children living in Burkina Faso, Africa [13] who would otherwise have been unable to go to school, are now being taught to read and write inside. Gala Tent are also a supporter for help for heroes [14][15]
